Rappers Turned Actors

Either they are following Will Smith success or drake in reverse but everyone in music want to get in film.

It Seems To Me, That Every Rapper Is Trying To cross over From Music To Movies. I remember my first movie I ever seen with rappers. Dre and Ed Lover's "Who's The Man". Great film, long before hip hop took over urban films and most of them made sense. There are a few good hip hop movies and a couple of rap stars that could act. Belly, Get Rich or Die Trying, Boyz In The Hood, etc. 50 cent(well, he was good in "Get Rich..." & "Before I Self Destruct" (in the clips I seen). His scenes in "Home Of The Brave" were to short so I couldnt see his acting skiils and "Righteous Kill", I didnt feel his acting skill...thats what you get for watching bootlegs..)Snoop Dogg (love him in all his films), David Banner (He's not bad), Beanine Segal, Damon Dash, Ludacris (he's doing his thing..well I didnt really like him in Max Payne (but that movie wasnt that great anyway), Q Tip, T.I, Ice Cube (his early films), LL Cool J, Nas and DMX, Nelly (only In "The Longest Yard") Big Boi (only in "Who's Your Caddy", "ATL" and "Idlewild"), Andre 300 (all his films), Common is doing a great job, I only seen Ja Rule in a few films...he's okay but I seen worse but I would work with him...Ice T was great during his "New Jack City" days but now he just trying a lil to hard to seem tough (Look at Leperchaun In The Hood), Bow Wow..Yeah..convincing in his acting, Lil Romeo...another not bad...and I cant forget bout WILL SMITH...plus there are the R&B Singers like Tyrese, Omarion, Marques Houston, Chris Brown, they all can act but WHY DO EVERYONE ELSE THINK THEY CAN TO? Rick Ross got a movie coming out (it's called "Days Of Wrath", havent seen his acting skills yet) The Game (I only liked him in Waist Deep), Lil Wayne is working on a few films coming out (let see how well he can do it) and there's rappers in my hood asking me to get them in a few film projects. My point is, not all rappers can act. Some may have a future career in film but many dont. Let me give a few examples.

Mike jones the American Dream

Everyone in this film needed Anger Management. Everyone got mad about everything. Every scene Mike Jones or his boys or his homie or who ever he was with got angry. Acting hard every minute. Mike Jones may have a career in acting, and so does the girl who played his girl friend and his grandmother and of course the professinal actors in the film knew what they was doing but them other guys need to put it to rest.

Master P's da last don

Now, I like Master P. As a business man and a rapper..and he's not to bad as an actor as well. I like a few of his films (hated "Uncle P" tho). I had a chance to buy a film he did called "The Last Don" but I didnt buy it to buy something else so when I saw it again at a video store for just $3, I took the chance to finally see it. The film is about a man who takes over his father "mafia family" after he is murdered. Alot of questions was not answered in the film..like how was his father Italian and he is black? (His pops could of have Jungle Fever, who knows), while was so much scenes in a strip club when doing business, why was it so short (40 mins), what excatly was the story line?!?! The film pulled a "Killa Season" (camron's film), it started with a story and then vaporated into nothing, just a whole bunch of scenes they thought would be cool to put together. Now, Im not gonna hate on Master P. He's doing his thing but hey, not everything you do can be gold.

So In the end, I have one thing for rappers..if no one wants to cast you for a movie, dont turn around to make your own. Take A Hint. They only put ya'll in the film to sell tickets.

I Hate When Studios Do This

Technicatly, this isnt a sequel..its more of an unofficial sequel. Another attempt to bank on another title that the studio owns. It was originally named "The Millionare Boys Club" but I guess they added "Belly 2" to increase sells. It has nothing to do with "DMX Or Nas" character. Word on the web is that they are working on an official sequel entitled "Beast". I cant wait for it to come out so people can forget about this movie. The movie is about Game, going back to the streets to make money (not really a big shock). His girl is a DEA and he doesnt know (and the storyline still remains flat). The directing was slow, the acting was horriable and it was a completle bore. Its a disgrace to the original "Belly". Out of all 3 movies I seen Game in..."Waist Deep" was the only one I can say he was convincing. "Street Kings" he was close but not good. So, if you ask me..dont rent, or buy...sooner or later it will end up on BET.

This was like bad sex

Okay, I dont wanna get all "sexual" in my movie blog. Im a christian but this will be the best way for me to describe this movie. Now I love M Night Shyamaln's movies. Everyone of them (except the village). He is very creative..but this is the 1st time Im gonna go against one of his film.

It begins with no clear warning. It seems to come out of nowhere. In a matter of minutes, episodes of strange, chilling deaths that defy reason and boggle the mind in their shocking destructiveness, erupt in major American cities. What is causing this sudden, total breakdown of human behavior? Is it some kind of new terrorist attack, an experiment gone wrong, a diabolical toxic weapon, an out-of-control virus? Is it being transmitted by air, by water--how? For Philadelphia high school science teacher Elliot Moore what matters most is finding a way to escape the mysterious and deadly phenomenon. Though he and his wife Alma are in the midst of a marital crisis, they hit the road, first by train, then by car, with Elliots math teacher friend Julian and his 8 year-old daughter Jess, heading for the Pennsylvania farmlands where they hope they'll be out of reach of the grisly, ever-growing attacks. Yet it soon becomes clear that no one--and nowhere--is safe. This terrifying, invisible killer cannot be outrun. It is only when Elliot begins to discover the true nature of what is lurking out there--and just what has unleashed this force that threatens the future of humanity--that he discovers a sliver of hope that his fragile family might be able to escape what is happening.

NOW, the way it started was on point. I was soo creeped out (and a lil bit scared) the tone and aura was right. There wasnt alot of distrubing scenes like I expected..but then again alot of stuff was cut out so it wouldnt get an X rating..I have to look at the deleted scenes to see what was cut out..but anyway as the film gets to the last characters and everyone is dying, you exepect to find out why these things were happening...but it doesnt happen. It stops out of no where, giving no explanations...3 months later its like nothing happened. Thats why I said it was like bad sex. Its like you getting ready to climax (im trying to stay as clean as possible here) and getting ready and its almost bout to blow...then nothing happens. You're like "WHAT THE HECK?", Like, where did it go? and it doesnt come back..so now here you are, pissed off..your partner had his or her climax(as in the film finished), but you didnt (you didnt get an explanation). I give the movie a 7 out of 10. Rent the Dvd.....HURRY UP AND DO UNBREAKABLE 2 M!!!!!! I will help you!!!!!!
