The Happytime Murders

I remember reading a blog on slash film 10 years ago about a r rated puppet film called @happytimemovie (that was supposed to Star Cameron Diaz at the time) was in development hell. Finally in 2018, the movie is out and it’s everything I imagined it would be. I love The Muppets and everything Jim Henson have created. I also like R rated comedies that’s done with a different medium (Team America World Police, South Park, Ted 2, Sausage party, etc) and this one fits on the list. Now the film isn’t super hilarious but I love the approach it took for a buddy cop comedy/puppet movie. I hope #HensonAlternative continues to produce content like this. It was a fun experiment. I enjoyed it. Not as much as Who framed Roger Rabbit but it definitely was a good time. I don’t know if it’s worth seeing on the big screen tho. Worth watching on an airplane or streaming it online or rental from a kiosk.
