The early buzz from the world premiere of The Lion King maybe strong, but since this clip was released from the remake of Disney’s animated classic, I for one am not happy with what I’m seeing.

The Lion Kingis a 1994 American animated musical film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is the 32nd Disney animated feature film, and the fifth animated film produced during a period known as the Disney Renaissance. The Lion King was directed by Roger Allersand Rob Minkoff, produced by Don Hahn, and has a screenplay credited to Irene Mecchi, Jonathan Roberts, and Linda Woolverton. Its original songs were written by composer Elton John and lyricist Tim Rice, with a score by Hans Zimmer. The film features an ensemble voice cast that includes Matthew Broderick, James Earl Jones, Jeremy Irons, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Moira Kelly, Nathan Lane, Ernie Sabella, Rowan Atkinson, Robert Guillaume, Madge Sinclair, Whoopi Goldberg, Cheech Marin, and Jim Cummings. The story takes place in a kingdom of lions in Africa and was influenced by William Shakespeare's Hamlet.

The Lion King was released on June 24, 1994, to a positive reaction from critics, who praised the film for its music, story, and animation. However, the film also drew several controversies, particularly for its similarities to Osamu Tezuka's 1960s anime series Kimba the White Lion. With an initial worldwide gross of $766 million, it finished its theatrical run as the highest-grossing release of 1994 and the second-highest-grossing film of all time. It is also the highest-grossing traditionally animated film of all time, as well as the best-selling film on home video, having sold over 30 million VHStapes. The film has led to many derived works, such as a Broadway adaptation; two direct-to-video follow-ups—the sequel, The Lion King II: Simba's Pride(1998), and the prequel/parallel, The Lion King 1½(2004); two television series, Timon and Pumbaaand The Lion Guard; and a 3D re-release, in 2011 (which I did go see and was very unpleased with the 3D).

Plans for a remake of The Lion King were confirmed in September 2016 following the success of the studio's The Jungle Book, also directed by Favreau. Much of the main cast signed in early 2017 and principal production began in mid-2017 on a blue screen stage in Los Angeles.

On September 28, 2016, Walt Disney Pictures confirmed that Jon Favreau would be directing a remake of the 1994 animated film The Lion King, which would feature the songs from the 1994 film, following a string of recent box office successes on the other Disney live-action remake films such as Maleficent, Cinderella, Favreau's The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast, with the latter three also earning critical praise. On October 13, 2016, it was reported that Disney had hired Jeff Nathanson to write the screenplay for the remake,with the story written by Brenda Chapman, who was the original film's head of story.

In November, talking with ComingSoon.net, Favreau said the virtual cinematography technology he used in The Jungle Book would be used to a greater degree in The Lion King. Although the media reported The Lion King to be a live-action film, it actually utilizes photorealistic computer-generated animation. Disney also did not describe it as live-action, only stating it would follow the "technologically groundbreaking" approach of The Jungle Book. While the film acts as a remake of the 1994 animated film, Favreau was inspired by the Broadway adaptation of the film for certains aspects of the remake's plot, particularly Nala and Sarabi's roles. Favreau also aimed to develop his own take on the original film's story with what he said was "the spectacle of a BBC wildlife documentary".

During Donald Glover‘s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this week, they showed a quick clip of him singing as adult Simba along with his pals Timon (Billy Eichner) and Pumbaa (Seth Rogen) was shown. and showed a clip from the lion king and honestly, I am worried. The problem with making a photo realistic film is that you lose the energy of the animated characters. The cartoon was so vibrant compared to this National Geographic documentary we are about to see. You can’t make them do anything that looks remotely cartoonish and thus you lose what makes the animated movie so much more vibrant. At the same time, the effects used to bring these animals to life are amazing.

I’m still going to go see it but I can tell already what’s going to turn me off but hey, I already got my tickets. I just got to get used to the new voices to old songs and the CGI animals acting like real animals.

​So Saturday (well really, Sunday since the fight didn't start til midnight) we finally got to see the main event. The moment we've all been waiting for. Mayweather vs McGregor. Boxing vs MMA.
I didn't see Mayweather's last fight. I was so unhappy with that Pacquiao fight, I wasn't interested but the way Mcgregor was coming at Mayweather during the press conference tour, it caught my attention. He was rude as hell! Recently I saw a compilation of Mayweather's knock outs and I was impressed. Now I won't front. I'm a broke Millennial. I really couldn't afford to watch the fight this year. Thank God for periscope and the people who were doing the lord's work. You're the real MVP.

I was really entertained by this fight. I really was. I don't watch a lot of sports but I couldn't resist watching this fight. It was like watching the end of Rocky (or any sports movie). This was really a blockbuster! I wish I saw this in theater (remember the ad I saw in my "Hitman's bodyguard review?). I literally stopped everything I was doing (which wasn't much at the time, just watching the Baywatch Movie.. review on that film coming soon) and I wasn't disappointed at all!!!!.

Mayweather made a fan out of me and I'm glad to see his last fight before he got out the ring!

We all know Martin Scorsese's next project is going to be a hit. Being the academy award winning director behind Goodfellas, The Departed, Casino, The Aviator (my favorite one of all) and Wolf Of Wall Street (among many others), you would think his next film wouldn't be going straight to Netflix (which I thought was the place for modern low budget indie, TV/Straight to DVD movies to die) but they acquired the $100-million gangster movie earlier this year, and IndieWire reports that sources say it will begin production in August.

With Scorsese and Robert De Niro have a long history (with eight previous collaborations) it's no surprise that De Niro will be playing Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran. Frank Sheeran was a mob hitman who was allegedly involved in union leader and author Jimmy Hoffa's death. the film was adapted from I Heard You Paint Houses by Charles Brandt, which is about Sheeran's hitman life, the 25 people he killed including the claims of him murdering Jimmy Hoffa. “I Heard You Paint Houses” were the first words Hoffa said to Sheeran.  Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Bobby Cannavale, and Harvey Keitel will be starring alongside De Niro, reports IndieWire

‘The Irishman’ Will Be Very Different from ‘Goodfellas,’ Explains Martin Scorsese
who says this will be a stylish period thriller about love, betrayal, violence and the Mafia (which still sounds like Goodfellas and Casino). Scorsese is aware of the similarities between his classic gangster movie and his upcoming Mafia hitman film but he explained how the two films are completely different. In an interview with U.K. newspaper The Independent, Scorsese chatted about The Irishman, describing it as a story about “love, betrayal, remorse and the sadness and tragedy, ultimately, of a life led that way,” and what makes a person “become a professional killer.”

When asked how that film is different from Goodfellas, which has similar themes (Ray Liotta’s Henry Hill go through a similar journey), Scorsese insisted that the two films are very diffrent. “I think this is different, I think it is. I admit that there are – you know, Goodfellas and Casino have a certain style that I created for them – it’s on the page in the script actually.  Putting Goodfellas together was almost like an afterthought, at times I was kind of rushing, I felt I’d already done it because I’d played it all out in terms of the camera moves and the editing and that sort of thing. The style of the picture, the cuts, the freeze-frames, all of this was planned way in advance, but here it’s a little different.

At points, the film will show De Niro digitally altered to look 30 years younger, as 
“The people are also older in The Irishman, it’s certainly more about looking back, a retrospective so to speak of a man’s life and the choices that he’s had to make.”
While The Irishman does feature Scorsese gangster hall of fame like De Niro, Keitel and Pesci, it will also be the first film that Scorsese and Al Pacino will work on together. The two of them have been trying to make a film together since the ’70s, and honestly, it’s about time.

Paramount was originally involved in the project, which De Niro told Scorsese about over a decade ago. But the film, which will cost around $125 million, was dropped by Paramount. STX Entertainment attempted to make a $50 million deal for international rights before it was picked up by Netflix. The Irishman will begin shooting this summer with a planned 2019 release date. Will smith has a film coming straight to Netflix too this December.. will this become the new norm? Theater films reserved for comic book movie and sci fi blockbusters and everything else is SVOD? Scorsese gangster films of the past inspired my digital feature "New York Shorties". Im hoping The Irishman will be another classic to add to the list.

As reported in Joblo It was announced not to long ago that David Gordon Green would be directing a new HALLOWEEN film which he would co-write with Danny McBride. Wait? What? Those guys are known for comedy. Im one of the few people who seen the last reboot in theater, this news doesn’t excite me at all! Defiantly not what I was expecting but knowing John Carpenter would be involved in the project as well is giving me hope. McBride appeared on Empire's podcast recently to discuss how they are planning to bring HALLOWEEN back to basics and make it scary once again saying​..

“Look at where the Halloween franchise has gone. There's a lot of room for improvement (laughs). David and I are coming from it as, we are horror fans, and we are humongous fans of John Carpenter and of what he did with the original Halloween, so I think from watching this and being disappointed by other versions of this series, I think we're just trying to strip it down and just take it back to what was so good about the original. It was just very simple and just achieved that level of horror that wasn't corny and it wasn't turning Michael Myers into some supernatural being that couldn't be killed. That stuff to me isn't scary, I want to be scared by something that I really think could happen. I think it's much more horrifying to be scared by someone standing in the shadows while you're taking the trash out as opposed to someone who can't be killed pursuing you”

Gordon is also on record saying “So we worked for about three weeks on our take of what we would do, because we weren't even sure if we wanted to do it. I'm the same way, I'll be the first person to go online and bitch about someone rebooting something, like "why are you doing this?" So for us, we were like we have to make sure that this is something we actually would want to see or else it's not worth doing. We came up with a take that we thought was cool, and then we actually went and pitched to John Carpenter, and he loved it, he was into it. It was like insane to have his seal of approval and to have him respond to where we were talking about taking Michael Myers next”

When I first started making films, I was heavily inspired by the Halloween films (in my 13 year old mind, horror movies were the easiest to film without a budget). I made countless shorts hoping one day I get to make an official Halloween film.. at this rate, Im sure its more than possible since they just passing the film to just anyone now.

HOLY SMOKES! The NEW Fast and The Furious Trailer aka Fast 8 aka The Fate Of The Furious has just release and it is AMAZING!!!! I honestly didn't know where they could go with this franchise without turning into a soap opera (well.. it still is) especially with 2 more films in pre production and talks of spin off between characters but this doesn't look bad. If you have been living under a rock, The Fast and the Furious is an American franchise including a series of action films, which center around illegal street racing and heists. There has been a few games but I only played them at the movies theaters waiting for the next showing of whatever film is playing that week. This film is a 4 BILLION DOLLAR FRANCHISE so its safe to say it's not going anywhere. I can see a future (maybe 10, 15 years) after they use everyone for the spin off, they will bring in a younger cast and reboot thier stories (like Disney just did with Star Wars and Han Solo).

So In this film Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game-and the rest of the crew has been exonerated-the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman seduces Dom into the world of crime he can't seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before. Years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 closed the book on J.K. Rowling‘s original fantasy saga, Warner Bros. is cracking open a new story from the franchise. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them picks up in 1920s New York — seven decades and one ocean removed from Harry’s adventures at Hogwarts — but it’s set within the same universe, with all the whimsical inventions and fanciful creatures that entails.

Eddie Redmayne leads the spinoff as Newt Scamander, a British “magizoologist” who heads to America in search of magical creatures to document. Im totally going to see this in theaters. I think it was 2 christmas ago I went to see Django in theaters and it was so magical so there's no way Im skipping out on that experience this year!

Django unchained is one of my favorite films and probably my all time favorite western next to Posse and 3:10 to Yuma. Sure, like all great directors he takes directly from his influences of filmmakers before him but he does it so well that he only do a film when he feels like it. These days, some directors are just making money to pay off bills and to build a new indoor pool in their condo. Roadshows like this don't come often. I don't even have a dollar to my name but I know come christmas day, I'll be selling my ass on the corner just so I can afford to see this film, Star wars and maybe Chiraq!

I for one has felt the fast and furious became its own marvel series since fast 6 when Vin was flying from cars and grabbing girls in the air! Im excited about this. I remember when the first film was released and how this film became EVERYTHING. Even lead to me writing my first full length screenplay at 13 (The fast and the curious..maybe I should do produce the parody after all this time). I'm not surprised that they're going to whore out the franchise (in an industry where anything new is a financial risk). Im kind of getting bored with the super hero shared universe, its cool to see it done to another franchise....NOW CREATE THE STRAIGHT OUT OF COMPTON SHARED UNIVERSE!!!
